Ridr is a record-keeping app for bike rental shops. This page explains what information the app handles, where it's stored, and who can see it — in plain language, so you can decide whether that works for you and your customers before you rent out a single bike.
01 The short version
Ridr stores everything — your shop details, your bike fleet, and every customer's rental record — on your device only. There is no account, no server, and no cloud sync. Nothing you enter in Ridr is transmitted off your phone or sold to anyone. If you uninstall the app or delete a record, that data is gone.
02 What Ridr collects
Ridr asks for two kinds of information:
Shop owner details
Entered once, when you first open the app.
- Your name
- Your shop name
Rental customer details
Entered by you, the shop manager, each time you rent out a bike.
| Field | Why it's collected |
|---|---|
| Full name, age, contact number | Identifies who currently has the bike |
| Aadhar (government ID) number | Standard identity verification used by rental shops in India |
| Photo of the customer with the bike | Condition record and identity confirmation at handover |
| Photo of the driving licence | Confirms the renter is licensed to ride |
| Rental start/end date & time, charge, deposit | Trip record and revenue tracking |
Ridr does not collect device identifiers, location, contacts, browsing activity, or any analytics or advertising data. It does not access data you haven't explicitly typed in or photographed within the app.
03 Camera & photo permissions
Ridr asks for camera and photo library access only to take or choose the two verification photos described above. The permission is requested at the moment you tap to add a photo, and the resulting image is saved directly to the app's private storage on your device — it is not uploaded anywhere.
04 Where your data lives
All records — bikes, rentals, customer details, and photos — are kept in a local database and local file storage on the device Ridr is installed on. There is no backend server, no third-party database, and no cross-device sync. If you use Ridr on two phones, they hold two separate, unconnected sets of records.
05 How the data is used
Everything you enter is used strictly to run the app's features:
- Showing your fleet, availability, and active rentals on the dashboard
- Letting you look up a customer's details or photos during an active or past trip
- Flagging overdue rentals
- Calculating revenue per bike
None of it is used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose outside the app.
07 Retention & deletion
- Bikes — stay in All Bikes until you delete them (a bike currently on rent can't be deleted).
- Rental records — stay in Rent Leisure / All Customers indefinitely so you can refer back to past trips, until you remove them or uninstall the app.
- Uninstalling the app deletes the local database and all stored photos permanently.
08 Your choices & control
Because Ridr has no server-side account, you — the shop owner — are the sole controller of every record. You can view, edit context around, or delete any bike or rental directly inside the app at any time. There's no separate data-request process, since nothing is held anywhere but your own device.
If you collect a customer's Aadhar number and photos, you're responsible for handling that information in line with applicable local law (for example, India's data protection rules) and for getting the customer's consent before photographing their ID.
09 Children's data
Ridr is a business tool for shop staff and is not directed at children. Rental customers recorded in the app are expected to be licensed drivers/riders, i.e. adults. We do not knowingly collect information about children through this app.
10 Security
Data is protected by your device's own operating system sandboxing and whatever lock screen or encryption you have enabled on your phone. Since records live only on-device, keeping your device secured (passcode, biometric lock, OS updates) is the main safeguard for the information Ridr stores.
11 Changes to this policy
If Ridr's data practices change — for example, if a future version adds cloud backup — this page will be updated and the "Effective date" above will change accordingly. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's Play Store listing.
